Learning and Curriculum

We take a thematic approach to the curriculum, where much of the children’s learning is led by the interests of the children themselves. Our teaching is mostly class based, but we have specialist teaching for some curricular areas, e.g. Music, PE and French. We have 2 or 3 classes in each year group; parallel classes study the same broad topics, with each class teacher tailoring and adjusting the planning to match the needs of the children in the class.

Parental support is valued and encouraged, with parents being encouraged not only to help their own children but to let the school know if they have any particular skills that they would like to share.
